The Star School Inaugurates Mohalla Library: The Star School celebrated a significant milestone in its commitment to education and community development with the inauguration of its Mohalla Library on September 16, 2025. The event brought together esteemed guests, management committee members, and enthusiastic students.

Key Highlights :-

Distinguished Guests: Notable attendees included Ms. Zulekha Hussain, international journalist and co-founder of Tehzeeb Urdu Institute; Prof. S. A. Majeed Bedar, acclaimed Urdu writer and critic; Mr. Khizer Husain, Director of Development for the Muslim Political Action Organization; and Mr. Mirza Abdul Qayyum Nadwi, President of the Read and Lead Foundation.

Welcome Address: Ms. Ashiya Begum, Principal of The Star School, delivered a warm welcome address to the dignitaries and guests.

Junior Librarians: Daniya Begum (Grade IX) and Sheena Fatima (Grade VIII) were appointed as junior librarians to manage the library.

Vote of Thanks: Mr. Rizwan Hyder, Managing Trustee of The Star School, delivered a thoughtful vote of thanks.

The Power of Mohalla Library Movement: The Mohalla Library initiative, spearheaded by Maryam Mirza and her father, Mr. Mirza Abdul Qayyum Nadwi, aims to create a network of accessible libraries for children in underserved communities. The movement focuses on

  • Making books accessible: Providing books to children who might not have access to them otherwise.
    • Cultivating a passion for reading: Fostering a love for reading from an early age.
    • Raising awareness: Addressing critical social issues, such as girls’ education and child labour.
